About the show:
Mostar, “City of Lights” is a play directed by David Zuazola, a Chilean director based in Spain. The project is a novelty in Bosnian and Herzegovina’s theater in terms of its concept and method of work. The play, whose set design was created by actors together with elementary school students, maps Mostar and significant city buildings, creating a replica of the city on stage.
Combining live performance, object theater and puppetry, “City of Lights” will offer the audience a unique experience of Mostar as we knew it before, and as we know it today. A mosaic of scenes will demonstrate different times, structures and their functions woven into the pulse of the city. From the industrial zone, the legend of the Neretva River and Mostar’s poets, the play aims to unite the real and mythological world of the city in the south.
City of Lights tells the story of a city, of its recognizable values, of the light carried within its people, those who created this city and were its greatest value, but it also tells of the existence and existence of those people who wanted to extinguish its light and destroy everything urban in it.
